Welcome to Stimpson Avenue Academy
We are very proud of our vibrant, inclusive and caring Academy.
We have 410 amazing children on roll. We have two forms of entry with up to 60 children in each year group. We also have a nursery accommodating 78 children aged 3+ with their 15 hour free entitlement (39 children in the morning and 39 children in the afternoon).
The school, which was built in 1894, has undergone substantial refurbishment, turning it into a contemporary, appropriate building able to accommodate a well-resourced 21st century curriculum.
We want every child to be happy and excited about coming to school. Our vision is to ensure that the children become confident individuals, responsible citizens and independent learners. We intend to nurture a lifelong love of learning and to ensure that all children reach their highest potential.
We intend to deliver excellence in teaching to ensure that all children reach their academic, artistic and sporting potential. Creativity throughout the curriculum is paramount. Children are wowed by exciting experiences that introduce themes of learning throughout the curriculum. Our enquiry based curriculum is planned so that connections between subjects are made, ensuring that learning is contextual, relevant and fun.
We recognise that every child is an individual and we tailor learning to suit each child’s needs. We have excellent provision to support and nurture children to achieve their potential.
We welcome other professionals into school and we work closely with a range of creative practitioners. We have peripatetic teachers supporting, woodwind, string, piano and guitar. We have a dancer in residence teaching contemporary dance throughout the Academy. The school also offers wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs.
The school is very well supported by parents, carers and the wider community. We endeavour to ensure that parents and carers are invited into school to share in the learning process with their children through key events throughout the year and with classroom activities.
We welcome potential parents to visit the school. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.
